LOVE IS IN THE AIR

Will you be my Valentine.png

I love that there is a day to remind us of Love! In the past, I thought of Valentine’s Day as a day to express my love to my children and my husband.  In the last year, I have looked beyond those closest to me and have really made an effort to extend this love and appreciation to my friends and my community.  By doing this, my soul feels so fulfilled.  It has given me such great joy and I want to just propose this thought to you in your own life.

As always, I love to share with you Quotes that inspire me:

“The beginning of love is to let those we love be perfectly themselves, and not to twist them to fit our own image. Otherwise we love only the reflection of ourselves we find in them “  – Thomas Merton

“They say love is blind.  I disagree. Infatuation is blind, love is all-seeing and accepting.  Love is seeing all the flaws and blemished and accepting them.  Love is accepting the bad habits and mannerisms, and working around them.  Love is recognizing all the fears and insecurities, and knowing your role is to comfort.  Love is working through all the challenges and painful times.  Infatuation is fragile and will shatter when life is not perfect.  Love is strong and it strengthens because it is real.”   – Unknown

1 Corinthians 3:4-8 “ Love is patient, love is kind.  It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.  It does not dishonor others, it is not self -seeking, it is not easily emerged, it keeps no record of wrongs.  Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth, it always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always preserves.  Love never fails.”

Love more Judge less!!!!!

Valentine tips and new traditions-

1- If you are going our to dinner, don’t book your reservation on Valentines Day.  It is so tough to get a reservation at the time you want and the restaurant you love.  Celebrate the day before or the day after.

2- Instead of going to dinner which is very traditional, create an experience for your loved ones.

3- Instead of buying a bouquet of flowers pick some around the neighborhood or grab the perfect combination from a flower mart, farmers market or even grocery store and do it yourself.  Trust me….the effort will always be appreciated

4- A new tradition that I am so excited about this year is “Heart Attacking”!

My dear friend Andrea Abenoza-Filardi @wholisticbeginnings came up with this super fun Valentines surprise that we are doing for the kids.  Basically, you cut out or make tons of hearts and you surprise the children by either putting them all over their room or the house and then you say “you got heart attacked”!  They need to then turn around and “heart attack someone they love and appreciate”!  I mean seriously…how cute is this?
